The BMW 1 Series has been sold in Slough as both a rear-wheel-drive hatchback and, from the F40 generation, a front-wheel-drive model built on the same platform as the 2 Series Active Tourer. Generations and body styles
The original E87/E81 (2004-2011) was rear-wheel drive with a straight-six or four-cylinder engine.
