Generations and body styles
The L538 Evoque (2011-2018) used Ford-derived engines initially before moving to some early Ingenium units in its later years. The L551 Evoque (2019 onwards) uses Land Rover's Ingenium engine range across diesel, petrol and plug-in hybrid variants.
Petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric
Earlier L538 Evoque models used Ford-sourced diesel and petrol engines, with Ingenium units introduced later in that generation. The L551 Evoque uses Ingenium diesel and petrol engines, with a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) variant offered on certain derivatives, adding a high-voltage battery and electric motor.
What servicing it needs
Evoque servicing follows Land Rover's mileage and time-based schedule, with oil, filters and fluid checks carried out according to the specific vehicle's requirements. PHEV variants also need their hybrid battery and charging system checked as part of a service.
Gearbox
Many Evoque models use a 9-speed automatic gearbox, for which Land Rover specifies a fluid change interval on many examples. All-wheel-drive transfer case fluid is also relevant given the Evoque's four-wheel-drive system on most versions.
Timing belt, wet belt or chain
