When a refurbishment is the answer

Refurbishment is for damage to the finish rather than the structure of the wheel: kerb rash, stone chips, peeling lacquer, white corrosion creeping under the paint, or a colour that's simply faded. If we find a buckle or crack during preparation, we'll stop and tell you before going further.

How a refurbishment is done

Strip and clean

Tyre removed, old coating and corrosion taken back so the new finish bonds properly.

Repair the surface

Kerb damage filled and smoothed so the rim edge is true.

Prime and coat

Primer, colour and a protective lacquer or powder coat depending on the finish.

Refit and balance

Tyre refitted with a new valve, balanced and checked for leaks.

Finishes available

Standard silver, gloss or satin black, gunmetal and custom colours. Powder coating gives a tough, even finish. Diamond-cut wheels need a lathe finish to restore the bright machined face. Tell us the finish you have or want and we'll confirm what's possible for your wheels.

Why it's worth doing

Apart from looks, corrosion around the bead seat is a common cause of slow punctures. Refurbishing the wheel removes it and gives the tyre a clean surface to seal against. Clean wheels also help when you come to sell the car.
