Generations and body styles

Petrol, diesel, hybrid and electric
Petrol engines include the PureTech range in various capacities, typically 1.0, 1.2 and 1.6 litre depending on generation and trim, while diesel options have used the BlueHDi range in 1.5 and 1.6 litre forms. The current range also includes the fully electric e-208 with no combustion engine at all.
What servicing it needs

Timing belt, wet belt or chain
Certain PureTech petrol engines, particularly some 1.2 litre three-cylinder units, use a wet timing belt design, which runs in engine oil. Not every 1.2 PureTech variant is affected, so we always confirm the exact engine code and build date by registration or VIN before recommending timing belt work. Diesel BlueHDi engines typically use a different belt or chain arrangement depending on the unit.
